Getting to Kenya

A river between SA and Kenya

We arrived in Joburg in the morning, but because of the delay in the previous flight we only had 40 minutes to transfer – we ran a little. We were worried about our bags, but the gate staff assured us the bags were on the next flight.

We got to Nairobi, but out bags did not, We were told that the bags were on the next flight coming to Nairobi, and Miten and Nirmal still had not arrived. Eventually we found out that we could leave the airport building and come back in to collect the bags after going to the security entrance, so we left and found the guys (well they just came after we got out), and we went to the Panari Hotel to kill a little time.

After we got the bags from the airport, we went directly to Nieri, where everone was awake, so a cool greeting. We had a full meal and then retired to bed.

Leaving the UK

Tuesday 3rd April

Our Pallet to NZ

First thing in the morning Bhavni & I went to the shop to say bye to Jayu & Minul then went to Sitas house to see her little nephew before going home.

Lots of people came home – Camille, Nishey, Akshey and Parita – Mother stayed at home today. Well we finished of some paperwork (always unending) and just chilled until it was time to go to the airport. Shelina came for lunch and Dad came early from the shop.

Milan, Rajvi and the gang came over and we left for the airport, going via Uxbridge to avoid the traffic and got to Terminal 5, where we checked in the bags (We had to do a little rearranging as a bag was overweight). We had chips and coffee until it was time to go. A good bye to all, with Neer and Prisha really wanting to go with us then off through Security.

The flight was delayed by nearly an hour. When it left the flight was ok, but very full and the person in the window seat must have gone to the bathroom 8 times.
